Tune of June - classical: Chopin

I don't think I need to tell anyone how excited I am about this :D {}

George I assume you're keen to have a go? :lol:

The sheet music is very far from what I'd call an 'arrangement' - it's just the melody line preceded by the word "Accordeon" along with some guitar chords! But I might have a go if can find the original to see if I can make a fair accordion transcription.

Must be where classical player meet folk player meet dottists meet earist. :D

I've just have a look and it's possible to play the piano score on an accordion and it looks like it would worlk mostly OK, though it would take a lot of learning. So I'll probably try the 'easy' version supplied first!

Pippa and I have already had a go at this one earlier in the forum.
Now weve got to show we can improve upon our efforts......

Simon, do you have the full piano score? I've had a go on the right hand on the piano and find it rather lovely.

Accordion Version?. This is not me. :). You can look for so deep is The Night on wikifonia and transposebto the key of choice and replace the weird chords with accordion chords for easy version, just saying. ;)

I'll be sticking with the "easy" arrangement - perhaps I could attempt the original on piano, but I'm not there with accordion yet!

I wonder if this could be accordion and piano? Just a thought.
I imagine you could create an accompaniment from the original sheet music and allow the accordion to "sing" the theme.

Not my cup of tea either, but a brave effort to put a new slant on a well known tune.[/quote]

This is the worlds first steam powered accordionist.....look he has a smoke stack on the top of his head........so far this is as far as I have got... I suppose I should have a listen as well !! {}

I play it on the piano, its what Chopin originally composed it for. I don't think it suits the accordion at all. If you want to play Chopin on the accordion "Grand Valse Brillante" is much better.

Thank you, Simon! Printing it out right now... looks a lot harder than the accordion version. Still, its good to have a challenge.

Yes, its a lot harder. There are simpler versions even for the piano. The book "Chopin - easy piano collections" would be better suited for accordion and the bass notes are easy to work out. The only Chopin music I play on the accordion is "Grand Valse Brillante" It seems to suit the accordion well. I don't play the piano much now but when I do Chopin is one of my favourite composers.

Oh man, I just realised I'm saying goodbye to my 120-bass in less than 2 weeks, and this tune certainly won't fit on my 32 bass. Better get practising!!

Is your 120 bass going to a good home?
