Sometimes my bass side is a bit squeaky - just the buttons rubbing on the casing. Anyone got a safe and simple solution? I have ideas but am a little nervous to put anything on that may damage the plastic or cause new unanticipated problems.

It can take a few min to figure out where the sound is actually coming from. It can depend a lot on the way it was manufactured.
Some pictures would help.

Thanks Kimric, you have made me examine the issue more closely and you may be right - I am now wondering if the squeaks are internal as the buttons don't appear to be touching the bass plate - though it is hard to be sure, as the pressures on the buttons in the playing position are different. Do you mean, internal photos would help? I am not sure how to go about that. I can see how to take the pins out and separate the whole bass side from the bellows but there is no easily discernible way of exposing the bass 'workings' on my Hohner Concerto II N. I may end up taking it in for a bit of an overhaul if it is not a simple matter as it is probably long overdue.
