Ok, since I last posted an AI accordionist, the technology has improved dramatically, especially regarding hands and faces. (Just look st the Santa that Ed posted!)

So, post your AI accordionists here, and let's see how it continues to improve over time. We now have images. I suspect that in the future we will be able to generate AI videos of AI accordionists playing AI music. Will wonders never cease, or is this just the beginning of the end? What do you think?

Nightmare fuel! What app/website did you use? I'll give it a go

edit: tried it, seems to really struggle with the bass side.

Hi Petch,

I'm using the Dream app by Wombo. It's definitely not the best, but it is free and does not require creating a login account, etc. Tradeoffs. Yours is doing a better job with hands. What did you use?

Wow, gotta check out that app, nice effect. Yeah, nice looking house too, thanks.

DALL-E 2 seems to have improved (?) since the last time I asked it to conjure a “dinosaur playing an accordion.”

Summer 2022 vs. today…still demonstrating that obvious bias for piano accordions :cautious:😅

Tried Dall E. To be honest, it's not that much better than Dream when the going gets tough, ie more tha just "an accordionist". Still major issues with faces and hands. We'll be all like "remember when the AI image creators came out and the hands and faces were so brutal!"

The person turned out fairly good on this one! The accordion looks like it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a piano or diatonic.
:ROFLMAO:

I really like this AI image generation. It's like armchair travel. I've always been inspired by seeing and learning new things, in life, art, music. I feel it might inspire me to get back into making artwork.

Like anyrhing else, there's tons of hyperbole. "It's going to ruin Art!!!" "It's going to save Art!!" "It's going to ruin/save civilization as we know it!!"

Yeah, yeah, yeah. For me, it's a cool new tool to generate ideas, and find fun images. I really don't care about Art (the art world/market). Been there, done that.

Here, for example, I took a self portrait I drew a hundred years ago and made myself an accordionist!

Even since I started this, the ai generators heve gotten much better at faces and hands on my accordionists. Even with variations in age and ethnicity.1677338694115.jpg1677338844767.jpg1677338055966.jpg

I would say that the AI misunderstands accordions in very much the same way as the non-accordion-playing public does: "some piano keys, a bellows, and some other mysterious bits and pieces we don't quite know what they do or what they look like."
I suppose that means AI is getting very good at thinking like humans do -- instead of actually providing correct information to humans when asked to.

My son is far more tech savvy than me and describes the AI images as created in the 'uncanny valley...
Meaning people still have six fingers, double twisted joints, upside down eyebrows etc . ...
Perhaps it'll catch on....
