You could manufacture an electronic stethoscope with a tiny aperture and place the end of the flexible tubing down next to different parts of the mechanism to detect noises.
Thanks for replies...I've attached a couple of pics of bass mech... Looks pretty tight to me ...
When I put back together checked for where noise is from and is a pinking sort of sound on release of buttons...no sound when pressing...
I must add I played alongside Elka and wondering also that a similar sound is there too but perhaps I hadn't noticed eethoscopts she plays so load...
The Elka does play smoother though...
