Does L 215/172 Made in Italy mean anything, here?

I was also wondering if this is worth $150

Im new to accordions so I dont know all of the terminology just yet.
So I read to stay away from moldy smelling accordions.
This only had a musty scent-not sure if thats the same thing.
Each key played out, octaves, fourths, and fifths sound good (third C was slightly out of tune).
The fiver bigger buttons worked, octave shifter?
No air leaks from the bellows, pushes/pulls tight when the left side buttons arent engaged.
It seems that all left side buttons work.
Not sure what the two big buttons do as they didnt seem to affect sound/performance.
Some of the keys arent level but doesnt affect sound nor do any of them stick.

The 2 'big' buttons do the same on the bass as the others do on the treble - shift reed bank selection. They should make a difference but if everything else works ok then OK - some student accordions dont have the option, and it is prob fixable.
If you think the smells OK, then it's OK, too - if it's only mild it will fade with just a good airing; failing that there are a few tips in the 'How to do it...' section.
Also levelling a couple of keys isn't a big job either.
It's not been used a lot - wear shows up on the back of the bellows (unless they've been replaced.. these aren't tho' showing verdigris on the corners; make sure that is light).

Seems reasonable bargain to me.... especially as you get a bit more off in the 'close'... 'cos of the not working bass shifts .. Or tatty or too small straps, scratched keys etc

Thanks. I got it and the bass shifts are in working order; one just takes the low note out and the other cancels it/returns to normal.

There are probably three notes that sound slightly off when pulling the bellows (Is there a term for that?) but hardly noticeable. Also, one C doesnt play the low note in the octave

Other than that and the need for new straps, I believe I really lucked out, here. The left hand strap adjusts well, too!

Do you know of this Larenti brand or where I can find information on it?

Thanks. It was hard to tell - especially when the logo was different from the other Larenti logos I could find.

Some of the pitch issues may clear with use. The non sounding note may be a wood shaving or dust etc. fouling a reed. Give it a really good push/pull on the note and it may clear. If not you may have to consider splitting it and delving inside...

PS serial number means nothing these days - with closures & rationalisation, just about all historical Italian records have been lost.
