(Based on a FR1X-B and only if you are interested in/own a Roland instrument)
If you go to try out a V-Accordion don't worry too much about the little wheel on the side for bellows adjustment.
1.Bellows: Ask the sales staff to show you the Bellows Curve adjustment (p48 of manual) and ask them to suggest a setting for you to try while explaining the differences.
Personally I found setting4 - X Light suits me. More able players may go for another setting.
2. Accordion sound changes: ask them to show you how the Musette detune works (p45 Manual) for example change the default setting to Dry. As a sound to try, User setting U4 Scottish will certainly let you hear the difference.
Set volume to max.
If you don't want an electronic instrument it's probably a good idea not to get one.
My Flamenco guitar sounds nothing like my Gibson Les Paul but I like them both.

Good advice.
For info, the FR3 has 3 immediately selectable Musette settings AND the detune option.
I do have to say, however, I haven't found a setting between the wheel and the curve that I'm totally comfortable with. However I do like the option of being able to practice outside in the Summer on low volume, or indeed on phones when the rest of the household has retired for the night. It's not too difficult to transport the practice over to the acoustic instruments.
