i lived there in late 70s studied with Max Adler who was an entainer in North Africa during the war. A lovely man his wife tougt classical guitar in the LAMAF building downtown Capetown.
He hand wrote out a few Africanse tunes for me. He was an associate of Nico Carstens who wrote Zambesi.

Hi Dingo, Really, I would say more like the northeast where there is more Scottish and French influence. Here in the midwest (where I live) the "anglo concertina" is not as common as the "chemnitzer concertina."
