I have a growling reed in the bass section, I have not taken it apart yet but I wondered if anyone knew what to look for.I read on another forum that it may be a valve leather on the adjacent reed which is faulty, is this possible.

A growling bass reed is always the result of a valve warped to far from the reed plate. An inspection of the reed block is needed . JIM D.

A valve in warp drive ..... make it so .
