Hi all - I’m Ahron - new to this chat.
I have a Duovox that I just took out of retirement- plugged it in - nothing - I noticed that the fuse was blown on my amp. Being over 60 - them eyes are not the same - I can’t make out - what type of fuse - amps? SLO or regular - all I can see is that it’s 250 and the height is about 1 1/4 inch glass. Any help would be be appreciated.

Take it to an electronics parts store and show them the fuse to buy the same one. They will have a younger employee who can still read what's written on the fuse. Typically the fuse in an amp is a slow one because when you turn it on there is a jolt of current going through it so charge large electrolytic capacitors. (And if the amp has a toroidal transformer that jolt becomes even worse.)

Thank you so much. I will heed your advice- and keep you posted.
Thanks again

the fuse is a normal "BUSS" fuse, there would be a second
marking on it for what AMPERAGE it is rated

so the 250 is the max Voltage it is designed/rated for,
but the amperage is important too.. a power/line fuse
like this usually has a very visible round or flat or spiral
silver wire from one side to the other, OR the slo-blo
has what looks like a little miniature fireckacker inside the glass
with a little spring that pulls it back if the fusible point melts..
usually slo-blow darken the glass from the inside when blown

if they do not have the exact Amperage, it is safer to use the
next WEAKER/lower amperage model of the same type

and Ahron, once the fuse is in and it turns on sucessfully
(without immediately blowing another fuse)
only run it for 5 minutes then turn it off.. let it cool a bit..
turn it on again for 10 minutes.. turn it off.. let it cool a bit..

in other words, these old beasts need to be awoken gradually
the old Capacitors and some other components can blow..
(you would hear some Pops and sizzling and see a flash of light
and smell smoke and even fire if it can't handle it)

good luck
