I have been asked to play a couple of Charles Aznavour songs at an event. I am not familiar at all with any of his songs, nor even the man himself. What would his most popular songs be? Perhaps I should ask which of his songs translate best to playing on the accordion? Thanks for any tips.

Wikipedia usually provide a comprehensive discography for well known musicians, and this should be your first port of call. YouTube will doubtless feature many/most of his songs, and this could be your next port of call.

She, Menilmontant, and Once upon a Summertime all translate well to accordion and would give a varied performance...
 
My favorite for accordion or any free reed instrument is La Bohemia, sometimes La Boheme. Its in slow waltz time and sounds ravishing on accordion or bandoneon.
