Ok, I’m liking this tablet idea. Now, what’s the best holder for the tablet?

I have a mic stand with either a 1/4 or 1/2 threaded OD connector (which may or may not be standard threads) or a compression fit for 1/2 OD pipe. Or a 3/4 OD on my music stand.

What works well for you? Thanks!

I have a tablet holder that screws onto the threads of a mic standard.
But currently I use one of these large solid metal music stands and the tablet sits quite safely on that. I use this as it lets me safely position the tablet to the right, with room left over on the left half, for a phone (metronome) or a paper with a playlist. The main reason for using this stand is that with the music displayed on the rightmost half of the music stand I can always read the sheet music with both eyes. (When the tablet or sheet music is further to the left the accordion blocks the view of my left eye, which is currently the good eye. I am waiting for a cataract operation to be able to use the right eye more again...)

Thanks for your advice everyone. I went with the Hercules since I have stands around.

I bought an iKlip3 Deluxe iPad holder because it was strong enough to hold an iPad Pro with an Otterbox case and was very stable, I just clipped it to an extra mic stand I had initially doing nothing.

Oh that looks cool too, more basic.

I bought the tablet stand from AirTurn. (AirTurn MANOS and portable tablet and mic stand from AirTurn). It works OK. When I first got it, I accidentally unscrewed the arm knobs and couldn't get the MANOS back together. The arm knob has a spring that is installed at the factory so I had to get a replacement stand. There was a warning in the manual but I didn't understand which knob that was.

One thing that always bothered me is that to use my iPad Pro 12.9 in portrait mode the clamps are on the side not underneath the iPad. That doesn't seem like that would be secure but so far it works fine.

I must admit that most times I use my orchestra stand with the iPad Pro. The orchestra stand works well for switching between the iPad Pro and paper sheet music and to me it seems more secure.

I also have the AirTurn DUO 500 bluetooth foot pedal and that works great for turning pages on my iPad.

Thanks for that review, Martin.

I am using this stand since 2 years with a 12.9 Inch iPad: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TC36KJL?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_6

I had tried several others before, incl. leaving the iPad on a regular Music stand. I rally like this one, add a cup holder and a phone holder and your setup for your gigs is good to go.

Thanks, Markus, for the recommendation.

I was always worried about the holder, any holder, not being able to handle an 12.9 iPad Pro in portrait position. So far I've been using a sheet music stand for my iPad. But I was still looking of an iPad holder for traveling.

Upon your recommendation, I checked it out on Amazon and ordered one yesterday. It was delivered this morning.

It was a pleasant surprise. Despite being light-weighed, the holder is solid and able to handle my 12.9 iPad Pro just fine. When folded, it's compact enough for travel.

At $30, it's an excellent value.
