Great clip, JerryPH! Love the end dialogue. It basically sums up half the threads on this forum...

"How the hell am I supposed to do that!?"

"Practice. And hard work."

It's times like this that the words of some imaginary guitar player always sing in my head... "the music's gotta live man... it's gotta breathe:. Every time I see any musician trying to dazzle someone with "useless extra notes", that pops in to my head. :)

There is a time for blazing speed, a time to impress... but doing that on a song where it takes away from the story or the feeling it evokes... never a good idea. :)

That's a very fair point Jerry PH..It's just my playing one note for 6 beats at the end of each line, I felt I should add something to make the tune a bit more interesting..

Totally fair, and also totally your prerogative... your song, your rules... but I've noticed a strong trend to have quantity instead of quality. I see so many YouTube musicians wanting to look flashy and ripping the keyboards apart, and end up sacrificing the quality of the song.

If a fill is what you want to add, go for it, just don't feel that you "must" put something... as you saw many people felt it unnecessary in this case. :)

If it is at the end of a song and have a lingering note at the end, its not so much of a fill as a couple of chord modulations (for example if it ends in a G minor, I modulate back and forth a couple times to C minor before ending).

In the Roland group you were wondering about easy recording methods... I'll see if I can take the time this weekend to make a short video that covers that along with this topic
