Has anyone found using a Drum machine ( software)useful?

I have one on the PC and tho' I find it OK ( and only OK) for guitar jamming ...it seems ( at least for now) too unforgiving when fighting with the accordion.

Your thoughts please.

Not tried one Dave but have thought about it. What one are you using?
What is it that makes it worse than when paying with guitar?

Using Hydrogen - a free download...not too complicated .
Why the difference - more than likely merely because I am a far better guitarist than I am with the accordion so far and so abl;e to keep up with the relentless march of the machine!
:)

Well the big advantage of the drum machine is when you tell it to slow down it does.
Can't say that always works with a real drummer.

On the other hand , a human drummer can follow the vagaries of the soloists whether vocal or instrumental.Drum machines always remind me in a strange way of the Holst "Mars "...relentless - unstoppable etc.

Loved the planets as a kid. Was the first LP (remember them?) I ever owned.
I just downloaded "hydrogen"by the way. I'm impressed..

Some crazy organetto albums with drum machine / simplistic keyboard backing, very relentless as you say Dave which gives a unique feel of its own... possibly an acquired taste...

Try Addictive Drums ....about eighty quid....which sadly to say is cheap for rip-off software prices ,but hey ho......(you can download a trial copy for free ) then you can write/loop in different variations on the pattern, fills and turnarounds ....and set your own comfy tempo..........another goodun (pricier still  )is EZdrummer which is also very good................but $$$$$$$$$$$$ just hafta compose that chart topping Ackordeen #1 Hit Record..........and whilst I'm wishing I'd like a pony.......well a Harley really :|
