Anyone using Boss wireless footswitch with a Roland 4X or similar?

My pedal need is only for ability to sustain right hand orchestra sounds (guitar/pianos mainly). I could do that with my 7X and the FBC-7 unit. On the 4X I've been able to do this with a WIDIBud Pro and an Airturn BT500-S. But their are some inconveniences with that - mainly having to switch the internal keyboard routing to get a loopback going in the WIDIBud (I think). And also the BT500 switch have a noticeable click that is too loud when I'm playing in some quiet settings. So I'm looking for other options.

I'd rather use something like the WIDI Master on the 4X midi jack, and am looking at the Boss FS-1-WL as a possible footswitch. The FS-1-WL claims to be "silent", and also an external expression pedal can be hooked in if I want that in the future. Just curious if anyone is using a similar setup or have any suggestions. I got the current WIDIBud config a couple of years ago, and am just now getting back into some playing that could use the sustain pedal and other control capabilities.

The Boss EV-1-WL looks like an option as well - except it has expression pedals built in and would need an external foot switch for sustain. And I can't tell whether that could be a standard sustain pedal like the Roland DP-10, or if it needs to be one of the Boss models listed in the manual (FS-5U, FS-6 or FS-7).

Thanks!
