For those few who are into free bass.
The international accordion weekly news talks about the Fisitalia ergo bayan.

Yet another maker trying to solve the left hand thumb problem.
The dilemma is: what is priority the thumb use, or the underarm pushing to close the bellows... Not an easy one.

This is something most of us don't care about. We usually play stradella bass, no ergonomic design needed. It's perfect.

Classical and conservatory accordionists may want to check out if this Fisitalia ergo is good or not. They need the free basses.

A beautiful looking accordion! Very interesting development, but now they have completely stripped away the Stradella bass and basically turned it in to a 2 handed CBA with the left hand notes going in the opposite direction (Bayan style).

IMHO, a big hit... and a big miss all at the same time.

Of special interest, something tat they did very differently is that for the first time, the left hand buttons are the SAME size as the right hand. Not sure if that is an advantage or not, not it is definitely an ergonomical choice.

What do you CBA players think about this??

I think that not having a convertor limits the applications of this instrument. Professional players often switch between Stradella and melody bass even several times within the same piece.
The pictures on the side to me look like this is a regular C-system instrument with mirrored C-system bass side that starts with C. It has some strange markings: most people are used to having C and F marked but this one is different. (All of that can of course be customized.)
Im sure there is a market for everything. For this... rather limited would be my guess.

The Geuns Hybrid Bandoneon forces your hand into an awkward angle. I have tried it and didnt like the feel. But it is of course a relatively easy way for a C system CBA player to use a bandoneon. The sound cannot be reproduced by any (acoustic) accordion.

Curious... this accordion will likely be bought by less than 10 people world-wide, and likely each one probably a master Bayanist, nice concept, not very business savvy.

Niche high-end item to add prestige to the brand?

I guess accordions are sufficiently hand made that the costs or producing something novel are not that high -egg & chicken, its not as if youre tooling up for volume production.

On the other hand theres the often told story about the musical instrument maker who won the lottery and was asked what theyd be doing - I guess Ill just go on making instruments until its all gone....

I must agree with Jerry on this one. My guess is (and just a guess) that this is a one off custom model made and advertised to judge the number of inquires of interested accordionist's that can financially afford it, have the time to learn a new bass machine design, and have the patience to wait for a custom made box to be shipped.
If I myself was in any way interested, I would wait to see and hear one of the firm's rep's to perform with it.
