Hohner musette 1V

Hi Phil,

It definitely has a three year guarantee, and I don't think it has been traded in. It is more likely that its configuration is the biggest factor in it hanging around for so long, as most people want double octave tuned instruments.

The other thing it has against it is the fact that it is currently uncool to buy Chinese instruments, mainly due to the perpetuation of unfounded horror stories.

I will check it out with Peter, just out of interest.

Stephen.

Just had a long and very funny chat with Peter.

It now seems that all the 96 Bass Musette Chansons have been sold, and the reason they featured in "clearance stock" was that they had ordered far too many. The secondary consideration was, as I suspected, the unpopularity of musette instruments in this region.

These instruments were all brand new, with a full 3 year guarantee, and represented exceptional value for money. They were sold off cheap to clear storage space for instruments which turned over faster.

Stephen.

Thanks for the information Stephen. I note that the Chanson 96 musette is still on their web site. However, as I said, I think a MMM or zero octave instrument would bend my arm back too much and so it will have to be a LMMM that I go for.

Bit annoying though when non-existent instruments are advertised!

I will let you know when I have taken the plunge.

Kind Regards,
Phil

Hi Phil,

The Accordion Shop has form for not updating their site regularly, but is, in every other way, a very reputable organisation. A chat with Peter at the Rochdale store is probably the best way forward, as his knowledge is encyclopaedic.

Good luck with your hunt.

Kind Regards,

Stephen.
