Just wondering if anyone knows if Hohner themselves make the Gola reeds?

As far as I know they never used Hohner reeds in the Gola. I think that initially they used Taborro reeds (like in the old Bell and Scandalli) but I could be mistaken. Later (after most of the work moved to Italy) they also used Salpa reeds. Nowadays... I have no idea, but what is now sold as Gola is a far cry from what the Gola was around 1960...
Six decades ago there were some really great reed makes like Taborro, Cattraro, Bugari... several more I cannot remember right away. None of these exist any more... But I'm not saying there are no more good reeds today. They are just different.
