Hello. Im a long time lurker and finally registered. Im a trained woodwind repair tech and saxophone is my main instrument. Ive always had a passion for accordions as well. Ive owned a Francini (sold during a move regrettably) and my recently purchased Atlas 4/5 lmm double cassotto. My main interest is playing jazz on the accordion and I hope to own a CBA C-system and a bandoneon some day. I look forward to learning from the wealth of information on these forums! Thanks.

Hi Jack - warm welcome to the forum. Atlas is not a brand we come accross much this side of the pond, but I'm sure one of the US experts will have some comments. Infact we dont see many 3 voice cassottos either but this is the second I've seen in as many days. Good luck with the research.

Good point Soulsaver 3 voice cassotto appears twice in a few dsys and I have never seen them before . What's the chance of that?

There we many 3 reed and 2 reed Cassotto models imported to the US from Italy during the 40's to middle 60's (Golden Age Of Accordions) most notable were brands of Sonola , LaTosca and yes even Atlas. All were 120 bass with 18" to 19" keyboards, and the use of only 3 or 2 treble reed blocks offered a lighter weight with a large tonal quality box.

Thanks guys! Happy to find this wonderful resource. Maybe I can even contribute a little.

The more I play the atlas the more I fall in love with it. It has that mellow Felice type tone. I feel very lucky to have come across this instrument as it fits the type of music I want to play.

I'm curious about your shop Jim. Do you have/sell parts? Do you do appraisals? I pass through western mass every so often. I would be mostly interested in value for insurance reasons. Not selling this one!
