Just a quick note for those who might be tempted to deal with Nigel at fair deal accordions.
I recently purchased an Excelsior LMMM MidiVox 111 from him. .. When it arrived here in Okotoks Alberta from Jolly old, the box it was in looked a little the worse for wear. It was shipped through the E bay shipping. system. The box looked like they threw it on the ground from the airplane as it flew by,, and kicked it all the way across Canada. so I was somewhat hesitant about the condition of the accordion inside.
when I opened what was left of the box, I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the accordion. It was packed well, and I think you likely could have driven a dump truck over it without damaging anything. When I opened the case I discovered that the bass section was really well blocked with plastic strips between each row of buttons, and taped over. You likely would have needed a sledge hammer to damage it. Each piece of the electronic accessories was individually wrapped in a thick layer of bubble wrap.

He described it as in good condition, with some normal wear. Well it wasn't...it was better than described. It was missing one little piece that covers the key rod access hole on the bottom of the accordion, but other than that it was in good to excellent condition. tuning is good, exactly as he said.
After playing it, I converted the power supply from 240 volts to 120 volts, plugged it in and tried the midi section.....it worked flawlessly.
If you have been thinking is he safe to deal with ? I wouldn't worry....... if he has a box that you think you might like.
I would definitely purchase from him again if I needed an accordion, and he had one that fit my requirements.
he even sent sound demo before we made the deal.
Granted the old MIDIVOX is somewhat outdated, BUT it's built like a tank, and I have never had one fail. The contacts need to be cleaned every couple years or so, but that is a simple twenty minute job,. everything is easily accessible. I have an old MIDIVOX 11 power supply Thanks to Jimmy D ...that I converted to run a Midivox 111, and it still works flawlessly. however that's off topic.
Nigel at Fair Deal Accordions, is from my experience ....a good one.

My Montreal instructor had one, he bought it new from Excelsior back in the day. They sounded great.

There were several versions of it, the MidiVox II and MidiVox III. If you had a particularly well filled wallet, you could eve get a 940 or an Excelsior Symphony Gold with the MidiVox III (this is what my instructor had). I played on it once and they were nice, but I preferred the Elkavox 83 which was more feature rich when compared side-by-side and that is what I ended up getting.

Thanks for sharing your purchasing experience!

EDIT: Forum rules, no video of you playing it, it never happened... LOL
