These 3 songs all have an accordion intro and helped to introduce me to the magic of the accordion

Give me your heart tonight - Shakin Stevens

Where do you go to my lovely - Peter Sarstedt

Lambada - Kaoma

Can you think of any others?

Paul Simon's Boy in the Bubble hit the uk charts, so it got played on pop radio. I remember an old school radio 1 dj saying it had a "ridiculously difficult" intro before he was forced to play it. I didn't know who Paul Simon was at the time but I noticed the accordion.

The genius that was Jacques Brel.
This was covered by many others including David Bowie on the famous Bowie at the Beeb radio sessions.

Vesoul is another Jacques Brel song with the accordion playing a major role.

One of my favorit Brel songs (vocals + guitar, no accordion here, but what a song...):
Jacques Brel - Quand on na que lamour. (live)

Yes indeed, great song

That is also some box playing on Vesoul. Inspirational stuff.

Not sure I remember Jacques Brel having a chart hit!

he just dressed up as Terry Jacks

Seasons in the Sun

It became a worldwide hit in 1974 for Canadian singer Terry Jacks and became a Christmas Number 1 in 1999 for Westlife. Jackss version is one of the fewer than forty all-time singles to have sold 10 million copies worldwide.

It is in fact a cover of the Brel song Le Moribond

Jacques Brel - Seasons in the sun ( Le moribond )

Wooden Heart by Elvis Presley - of course this video is from the movie, but the song, as recorded, starts with the accordion also.
