I`ve still got mine Jarv, they`re full of dry joints, well known for it . usually finding out where the troubled bit is by tapping the plastic handle of a screwdriver over the board and them soldering it fixes it ........ great amp, lousy assembly and lack of QC

They`re built in Vietnam actually ........ Dunno what QC is like there

Ok, Black Diamond are sending me a B system CBA to evaluate. With their permission Im going to do a video review so I will post that on here when its done. Juliet from BD has instructed me to be totally honest so I will be. Im under no obligation whatsoever to buy the box and they will pick it up after Ive had it for a week. Of course we both hope that wont be necessary! ;)

I must say their customer service has been exemplary so far - more or less instant response to emails etc. friendly and courteous. Of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating so watch this space......

Whatever the outcome, there are many companies and shops who could learn a thing or two from Black Diamonds approach to a would-be customer.

Now this indeed appears commendable. However, note that the UK distance selling regs force them to accept a return bought at distance within 7 days (for certain) maybe 14, from receipt & return at their cost.

And Im not aware that you need their permisssion to be honest either or to post a review performance...

Call me cylindrical but isnt it that they are in agreement with your statutory rights? I know - in this country (UK) that is still shamefully unusual!

Yes, I take your point. However, the fact is, these selling regulations apply to purchased items and I actually didnt hand over any money until Id had the box for about a week and I was happy with it. Black Diamond trusted me to look after the box and return it unmarked without any security which I really appreciated. You are absolutely right that I didnt need their permission to do the review - good, bad or indifferent - I simply asked them first as a courtesy.
If I had borrowed the instrument and hated it I would certainly have returned it - fortunately that was not the case and I am now the proud owner of a very nice CBA.

The point I was trying to make was that, irrespective of their merchandise, Black Diamond are a very nice company to deal with.

In case anyone was wondering- I paid the full asking price for the box and was very happy to do so.
