Anyone else feel the same?

And another sad reality is that whey you buy a software product it is rarely flawless and this is because 1) it has to be rushed to market in order to not be later than the competition, 2) programmers are not trained at writing flawless software (anymore) and 3) customers seems to always want new features that were not in the original published specification and they feel "entitled" to getting such "upgrades" they didn't pay for.

Adobe is one of those companies that I used to use a lot and even had a subscription for Premiere Pro. After 2 months of paying a ridiculous fee, I moved over to Blackmagic Davinci Resolve. Two months later I decided I wanted to get a license as it was a one-time fee, but I first purchased their speed editor, it came with a free license for Resolve Studio... that was in 2016. Me and every other user of Resolve has paid ONCE and never again.... that was version 12 in 2016!

I was looking at the Beta 20 version a couple days ago and liked it... curious, yesterday I downloaded and installed it... it works FLAWLESSLY for me as a beta software... it too was free and is the full Studio version.

So far it has been 9 years where I basically got a LEGAL free upgrade to the paid version (others are on over 12 years!) and only now there is SOME talk that MAYBE after 10 years of one of the best NLE's on the market, they may charge for the next version (maybe in a year??). If I had not purchased the Speed Editor, it would have cost me $249 and I was going to pay for it had it not come for free.

They are FAR superior to Adobe Premiere, FAR more stable, release many updates and surprise, they LISTEN to the users and you don't pay a monthly sub, and per the owner of Blackmagic in several public confirmations, they will NEVER go that route.

It's one of the best softwares of its type out there run by people that care and advance at an incredible pace... yet they never seem rushed or under the gun. I like that! They have their quirks (they WON'T support ProRes RAW ever, as it is competition to their own BRAW and other political reasons... lol), but for the most part, they make a ton of great products and push the entire video industry. Yeah, I like their products.

I have a old computer and a old version of photoshop I use. I have some sort of blocker set up so it can't talk to the wed so it does not do that.
Same here - I've got a copy of Photoshop 7 (2002) and I've told the Windows 10 firewall to block its internet access.
It doesn't ever ask about updates or registration :)

Similary I use Firefox in privacy mode so no adds and I'm not logged in to Google etc.
For sites that demand more info I use the Tor browser, so I appear to be at some random place in the world.
