A valued customer just recently brought in a accordion with the name "ACE" on it. The customer thought of it as a mediocre build accordion and wished to get it in playing state for a gift to send to a friend outside of the US.
Once I explained the quality & origin of the accordion his decision was to keep it and find him a good but
mediocre model to send overseas.
I learned the origin of these "Ace" branded accordions from my late mentor Emil Baldoni in the 60's and so
little today is known about the brand so I decided to post it on this thread.
Most know of the brand "Victoria" of Italy and aware of the excellent models of accordions they have and now produce.
In the 50's to 70's the Victoria models of accordions imported here carried the names both "Titano" & "Ace".
The "Titano' & "Ace" models sold here were model for model (except for grill & badge) were virtually identical
to the Victoria models sold in Europe.
The "Titano" branded Victoria's were first imported here by Traficante of Minnesota and the brand name was
purchased by Ernest Deffner in 1965.
The "Ace" branded Victoria's were imported by the future Bell accordion
A very informative add with this information can be found here --- https://www.accordiongallery.com/ACE.htm
