Hi everyone, I’m in Australia, and am wanting to purchase a new accordion. Coming from a Balkan background I’m sure some of you are aware of the types of accordions we like to use. Essentially any of the legendary tone chamber LMMH accordions such as the Guerrini Superior 2, Scandalli Super VI and the Settimio Soprani Artist VI.
I’ve been considering a few options and wanted to see if anyone had any opinions for me to take into consideration. I’ve heard mixed things about new accordions, although the older models may sound better I’m sure one of the new models will be more than enough.
In terms of NEW accordions I’ve been looking at these:
- Siwa and Figli Super Quattro Artist £7500
- Sonola Aristocrat Senzionale £6900
- Settimio Soprani Artist VI £6900
(From what I have been told the Settimio and Sonola are now the same accordion, just with different looks)
- One of the new Guerrini accordions from their lineup. Starting at £8000
I’d be open to purchasing the older versions of these accordions if I can find one for a similar price which I highly doubt. I’d appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction to finding one.
My last question is if anyone knows if anyone in Australia might have some of these models for me to try, otherwise it looks like I’ll need to make a trip to Italy. I definitely want to try before I buy although I’m sure I’d be satisfied with any of these models.
If anyone has any info about anything I’ve mentioned it would be much appreciated. Thanks
