Harmonium Flowers of Dali.

Hmmmm, don’t recognize that one….

For our man Walker here’s a sample of the pastoral life by the contemporary Sicilian artist Salvo Caramagno (still with us as far as I know). Some people feel a sort of folk nostalgia associated with accordion music and accordion playing in general. I feel no shame in trying to evoke some emotion related to an idealized (“finto”) past, say playing Beautiful Dreamer or Amore Mio non Piangere. Just sayin’

For the more surrealistically inclined, by Angel Planells:

The more I immerse myself in Carlo Ferranti's (1840-1908) quaint Campagna scenes, the more I'm tempted to snag me a Castagnari Magica squeezebox. It's as if my inner folk musician is time-traveling for a jam session with Ferranti's stylish peasants basking in the Italian sunshine. A far cry from my usual backdrop of bracing Highland blizzards. Talk about a cultural and weather-induced head spin that oddly feels just right!
