Here in Scandinavia accordionists talk abiut how great Calle Jularbo was. Some say he was the greatest.
He sounded like this:

I don't think he was very technichally skilled.
I think his playing is somewhat raw and not about having a beautiful sound.
I am not that much into this accordionist.

What can you say about this accordionist?

I like Jularbo's dance music of the day. It was that which made him popular. 🙂
Times and tastes change.
He met the needs of the times!🙂
"Beauty is in the ear of the listener!"
Or: music is an acquired taste!😀

I think the second tune is a real ear worm. I only wish I knew what they were saying. 😄
The title means Roslagen's most beautiful rose. It is a song about a young woman.
The fun part is the beginning of the video.
The guy on the right is one of my favourite actors and comedian.

So it is more about being good at getting the dance feel rather than being technichally good?

In the first photo, he could be Jimmy Shand's Scandanavian brother

His way of playing waltzes seems very difficult to emmulate. I don't really know that many peolple who play like him.
What is he doing? I once heard that he played chords on all three beats. Whether that is true or not I don't know.
I also heard that he is not always right on the beat. Whatever that refers to.

Pipemajor: Apparently a motorbike fan all his life; the working man's passport to freedom in the mid 20th century.
I had a pedal bike in the years before I was eligible for a motorbike licence and it reminds me of the clergyman who had lost his bike.
He said that it was when he was giving forth, from the pulpit, on 'thou shalt not commit adultery' that he remembered where he had left it.

So what?
We all know the fact that Calle Jularbo had his Cadillac. Musicians become rich.

It's a Scottish trait to support the underdog. I've no reason to believe that Jimmy Shand was financially disadvantaged but many are proud that he rose from a very underprivileged mining background to walk the world stage.
(Did Carl Jularbo not have a Volvo?)

I think you're missing the British sense of humour here.
The references to "sailor " and "Bike" refer to the fact that they may have had affairs with other women in other districs and needed transport .
The motorbike would be needed to travel longer distances.
It is ofter said in jest that, if one finds a resemblance to someone else then "your father must have had a bike", the sailor had a girl in every port
