A good accordion teacher will get you started with playing without ever looking at the keyboard from day one. PA or CBA, makes no difference. The only reason for ever looking down is when you need to change registers to one you rarely use (and even then on a french-style you don't look because there the register switches are under the keyboard).
I've always played by feel simply because it's impossible to see my left hand. On the right hand you are looking down on the wrong plane on a forest of buttons so that doesn't help much either! Eyes are for looking out of the window or at music if you are using that.
True...I always tell people who aren't familiar with the accordion "try drawing a square with your left hand and a circle with your right hand in the air at the same time."

It's been almost 60 years since I had an accordion teacher. I must have forgot the looking down part. I do remember having to learn the coordination of treble and bass side and bellows. Also, later on the studies in The Virtuoso Accordionist studies by L.C. Hanon which I still have.
yeah the accordion player is good but I’m impressed how the keyboard player can make a six piece band sound indistinguishable from one accordionist with a midi arranger module! Guess it adds just enough synthetic qualities that I start to doubt my ears.
