Who's got a great midi, digital or electronic setup?

As far back as I can remember, Roland amps were always considered not terribly expensive, but 90% as good as the best on the market. Back in 1975 I picked up a Roland JC-120, it served me well for a long time until I went midi. Man, some of the stories I could share during my band years with his amp... lol

To my surprise, apparently Roland is still making this amp... 40 years later!

The Roland Cube may be small, but it looks like it could handle a lot of situations. Twin 6.5 inch speakers means that it should handle all but the lowest of lows and highest of the highs. Heard them a few times. Here in the summer several street musicians in Montreal use them, and about the best way I could describe the sound was very natural sounding with vocals and guitars.

Most guitar amps are too mid rangie for the accordion in general. Bass amps with a pizzo/horn will work much better. Sound wise to me. Just you have to come up with you're own FX's outboard. At least try them if you're shoping around you might be surprised.

That is excellent advice. I cannot emphasize how important it is to try before you buy. At the very least make sure that if you purchase something untried, that they have a return policy that does not penalize you if you take it home, try it and hate it.

Oops, have to make a bit of a correction, my amp is not a JC-120 but a JC-160. Near as I can tell, it's almost the same except it has 4X10" speakers instead of 2X12" speakers, and from the little that I read, they seem very desirable because they are not made anymore and they did have better acoustical properties than the JC-120 (and one of the cleanest sounding amps ever made). I see them on the net at various places from $550 up to $1200 for ones in "as new" condition.

It's a bit of a heavy piece (I would have to guess around 80-90 pounds?), but easy to move around thanks to the quality castors it sits on. I remember lugging this thing up flights of stairs fairly often when I was performing with it... how the heck I managed, I have no idea... haha.
