This was kicked off by the posts in Craptiger's for sale thread regarding Victoria and who made them - diverged onto other makers rebadging stuff so I`ve moved it here to a new thread ........

I`ve just google Image`d Victoria accordions and some are looking 100% Pigini to me ..

Crossbreeding / renaming of other instruments has been happening in the accordion world almost since day 1 and not only in Italy - even Hohner when they bought out a smaller company would often badge what was left with their name which is why in the early 20th century, the hohner name could be seen on very un-hohnerlike boxes such as weird 1 rows with funny trumpets on the front ..

I`ve seen a lot of Italian boxes, PAs and Diatonics which came from the same factory with different names on - the whole Frontalini / Orfeo / Casali etc business for one , it doesn`t mean that all three names boxes were made in the same place but just that one or more models were - Paolo Soprani in the 70s and 80s went through a mix of makers , the main one being Dino Baffetti in the 80s - Saltarelle make nothing at all but had / have firstly Serenellini and later Baffetti make their boxes for them and there are ones which exist with the OEMs name on too ..

Here`s my example from my post in Ben's thread (and why I queried Victoria) - the box is made by Dino Baffetti
