Hi
I have a PA with factory fitted internal mics, plus two regular jack sockets and this DIN? plug (see image).
I'm not an expert on this aspect of things. I believe the jacks are line out to go to an amp/mixer, and I can test these (there is a loose wire but I'm pretty sure I know where it goes). But what is the DIN plug for? I've worked on PAs with midi installed, meaning they have midi contacts throughout the treble side (actually...I never looked in the bass side of a midi instrument so I don't know what is in there), which means it behaves like a midi controller and the output goes to a processor of some kind (a DAW, for instance, or a dedicated bit of hardware) where the midi signal is mapped to audio.
So can someone tell me what this DIN plug is for? Or is it just an alternate mic connector?
The instrument soon goes up for a commission sale, so I'd like to be able to describe the electronic part accurately (so your answer is likely to reappear in the advert...and/or I can test the instrument properly).
