Uncommon tone🤔

He's rather good, isn't he.
I often choose one or other of his utube pieces when I fancy something different.
I gather that he has been instrumental (pardon the pun ) in the restoration of a number of vintage boxes, though one of his favorite re-builders has since died.

I do like the tone, in fact I love it. I wouldn't say it was uncommon though. Isn't it a cassotto or a metal case for example that gives it a sharper tone ( if sharper is the right description ) than the more common mellow tone. I heard a simi;ar sound on a Hohner Virtuola 3 recently from a busker.

From the You Tube description: "The instrument Alf uses is a heavily customised Excelsior (with Binci Professional Reeds etc.)."
Which, it would seem, includes blanking the upper two rows of buttons with a nameplate.
Now, if Ffingers could only get his fingers to emulate this performer... :(
