Greetings! A new acquaintance sent me home with an accordion she inherited from her aunt Bernice, who used to play professionally. My main task is to see how well the keys and registers are working (tonight's project). I am neither qualified nor comfortable taking it apart and will leave that for someone who is. It's not for sale, at least yet, so I'm not necessarily looking for a value. What I AM looking for is information about this model. I've searched high and low online and have not seen another instrument quite like this. Can anyone here direct me to the right place? I've been on Titano's website and others, but haven't seen anything that looks quite like it, and googling the model number has gone nowhere. Thank you for any insights you can offer.

Details: Titano N1124; 41 keys; 21" top to bottom; it weighs a hefty 24 pounds.

the squared front keys and onlay mount grill suggest
late 1940's early 1950's

back then it is certainly possible Titano was sourcing accordions
from various places

the fat curved end keys suggest Crucianelli, the center grill name
position and chrome remind me of a Scandalli, and didn't Paolo
have the mini keyboard looking shifts for awhile ?

nice looking box but it is seriously dried out.. don't be surprised if some
leathers pop off the keyvalves as you play/test it out

Welcome Jayne! Bernice sure had a nice looking accordion, I hope you are able to restore and enjoy playing it. I’m sorry I have no more info than Ventura has provided.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge; I will share it with Bernice’s niece. I’m playing it a bit, checking to see what works and what doesn’t, and will return it in late March. What she’ll do with it next, I don’t know, but I hope it doesn’t get tucked into an attic and forgotten. 🪗♥️

Hello again -
The Titano is being returned tomorrow afternoon. It definitely is in need of a thorough cleaning and repair. The owner lives in Eau Claire, WI, which isn't far from Minneapolis. Could anyone on this forum recommend someone? I'm only familiar with Dan Turpening.

Dan worked on my Lira. I was totally happy with his work. There may be others closer to Eau Claire but I don’t know. Good luck!
