Merry Go Round OF Life is such a good tune. It sounds ace on the accordion and 41/120 suits this musician well - it's just right in my opinion. In Scotland 37/96 or even 34/96 is quite popular now as that's all the range you really need for most Scottish tunes. I think that's okay too, but I still prefer to select an accordion that fits the physique of the musician and has a good sound first, and I think of weight/dimension reduction as a secondary consideration.

Dingo, when you mention Ksenija, with her 47 key free bass Pigini, it's huge and a great instrument. She also has the stature to play such an instrument easily. However, sometimes when she plays lighter music (that does not require free bass) and particularly when standing up, my back aches at the thought of the weight of the accordion. You'd think Pigini would supply her with a lighter 41/120 or 37/120 standard bass accordion for comfort when playing and moving around. After all, she has probably been a great advert for their instruments over the years.

@Ffingers, thanks for sharing. It's great to see a B griff man, being so open to all accordionists regardless of their system. Music comes first -respect!

"It's great to see a B griff man,..."
That's the system which I chose to engage with, but I am much more interested in music, than the means of producing it.
I am, and never have been, a purist of any kind.
There are things which I enjoy and others which I do not and I have no obsessive interest in who, what, where, and how things are created.
One of the delights of the modern digital/internet age is the access to so much which I otherwise would never encounter; viz. Mongolian two stringed fiddles and their throat singing! How else would I experience that in this rural portion of European occupied Terra Australis??
Ms Siderova often refers to her accordion as "The Beast" - which she seems to have tamed with remarkable alacrity.
