How should I clean the surface of the accordion to get rid of finger smear marks ?

Dave

:?: i would use slightly dampened as without ....may not remove stubborn finger marks

or mr pledged multi - surface cleaner :!:

A light furniture polish and a micro-fiber towel really shines it up.

I just use a soft cloth after each practice session. My accordion manufacturer, Hohner, recommends using Pledge or another mild furniture polish to take away fingerprints and smudges from the piano keys.

The shop I bought my piano from told me never to use spray on furniture polish on the keys. Wonder if that holds for accordions. Come to think if it, I did buy it 30 years ago and it's been Pledge free ever since.

I've been using Windex to clean my accordions and follow up with Pledge for polish for 30 years now. Never spray directly on the accordion - always on the cloth rag.

I use isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for any kind of cleaning like this. It dissolves grease easily and evaporates completely very quickly so doesn't leave a residue.
