Hi, I would like to find an valuation on a Soprani Accordion. My wife inherited it from her step father so we would like to insure it.
I have done some research a while back but it seemed a bit vague.
I was brought up on traditional Irish music and still love to listen to the accordion.
Thanks.
There are a lot of people here who collect and restore old accordions. I try not to but it's difficult, need to find a meeting. For extreme cases there are those giant museums in Minnesota and Connecticut.
May you all live until your paths are gentle and your current instruments become your old accordion collection. I hope one day to hear you say, "I love my vintage Roland. Got it in '15 when my Cordovox generator finally bit the bucket."
Yup... the Roland is indeed looking like it is going the way of the Cordovox, as much as I do not want it to. I'm working on my accordion collection, not to (at this point) increase it's numbers, but try to increase it's lifespan. Electronics age and die, nothing I personally can do about that, but I do know that one day I am going to expand my setup downstairs to include a small accordion repair area that includes a work bench and tuning bellows... just to take care of the 8 accordions that I do own.
Be careful what you wish for, Jerry. When people find out, they'll drop 'em off on your porch! You do have a beautiful collection, though, worth keeping restored.
