hello, please help me, I have a roland fr 4 accordion and I use it with the native kontakt instrument via midi. the problem is that I have no control over the volume, I entered the midi settings in roland and tried to change the volume, but kontakt does not receive the midi volume information, I also tried in cubase to see if roland transmits volume information via midi but I didn't succeed. I don't know what settings need to be made, in roland or in contact, to be able to control the volume via midi.

volume in what regard ?

the bellows ?

the keyboard attack ?

the volume knob that controls the internal speakers ?

the bellows are more controller 11 (expression) i believe and
keyboard attack is velocity but both may send some additional
volume controller messages/values as well in a mix of data..
in any Computer software for Music, a hardware interface that
allows you to "map" to an assortment of physical things,
(sliders pads footswitches volume pedals)
is a specalized type of device for control purposes

some studio midi keyboards have these types of extra controls
built in, the roland accordions do not generally, though there is
a section i believe to allow control triggering of arranger units,
so you may be able to piggyback on something in that section

I'm interested in being able to control with fr4 x the general volume fader (decibels) of the native Kontakt instrument. I say the general volume fader, because I created a bank with several instruments in Kontakt and if I want to increase the "db" volume, I want to increase on all the instruments in the bank. I understood that cc7 is assigned to midi volume information. I don't know if fr4x has this function? I can control the rest of the midi functions that interest me from fr4.

in the roland fr4 menu I saw the midi volume function but it does not transmit anything to the native Kontakt instrument. maybe something needs to be set in Kontakt? to communicate with the midi volume function from fr4. in fr4 I did not see the cc7 function.

native kontakt instrument works perfectly with the roland accordion, it has all the necessary functions. in kontakt, you have to make some simple settings, in the modulator of the instrument, in order for the accordion bellows to work with that instrument. I studied more thoroughly and found out that roland fr. does not transmit the midi cc7 message for volume does not have this function. I talked to a friend to make me a midi cc7 controller that I will attach to the accordion. another problem is that the volume fader on the master, "general" in the contact cannot be controlled via midi, however I still have two solutions to be able to control the general volume, I load contact on a track in cubase, or I use the midi control function from the total mix fx of the rme ucx2 audio interface. and I can control the fader on the master of the audio interface .

I was looking at the “Kontakt Pedal Steel Plug in” for quite some time. But seems to be used with a full midi keyboard. But would be nice to figure out with FR4x to make the effective pedal steel control with a Airturn Pedal or another brand pedal. I think there is a possibility. Anyone want to take on this challenge or discuss this, please pm me. I think there is another company brand selling this at a lower cost?

iconic sounds Keyboard players have always coveted !

the Prophet 5 Synth was propelled to "must have" status
for Pro's back in the day specifically because it nailed
the "Pedal Steel" slide capability..

but that was long ago and far away

Hmmm. Seems I once heard Long Ago and Far Away played on a theranin, not a pedal steel:)
