Guess Matilda ain't gonna take me money and run Venezuela no more. In fact, nowadays would she even want to?

RIP Harry Belafonte. 😒😒

i too am sad to see him go

definitely influenced me in my music/Life, and how
he comported himself with such class not just as a Musician,
but as a Human

a friend of mine, Gwinn Nelson,
(accordion, cordovox solenoid hardwired to a Kurzweil Polysynth,
then early MIDI-Crucinelli paired to Ensonique Samplers)
regularly did DAY-O live on gigs

and it wouldn't hurt us to notice that life in Jamaica around the
small towns and plantations is not all that much better than it was
way back when the song came out.. death squads still exist..
citizens and mothers still live in fear for their children.. opportunities
for success are still severely limited, and many young men spiral down into
a ganga existence of listlessness, resigned to an unchanging fate
