Regaal... Distant ancestor ?

Certainly sounds accordion like!

I think those Pretorius dances like that would sound equally good on a modern accordion. Reminds me of how advanced England was compared to Germany in music. Whilst they were honklng away with Praetorius, England had already produced music like this a century before....

The Rackett must have become a bassoon in a short time I guess. Here is another Regal video:

Interesting Murathan. One of the shots shows a reed with a contraption on top. I believe that is for tuning the reed. Sliding it over the reed shortens it or makes it longer. Would make sense. But there is also probably a reason why it was abandoned...
