compromising the air chamber for a jack .. sheesh

well my friend Bernie decided to work on his u-joints cuz they
were making noise so he put it in park and got under and unbolted
then started to pry the drive shaft out

guess what ? MOPAR products of that time used the drive train
as the parking brake

POP and it started to roll back on him.. one leg out past the tire..
his goose was cooked.. i happened to have quietly walked up
a bit earlier, so i was in place to just lean my Knee in against the back bumper..

the car stopped.. he looked up.. back.. after that day my money was no
good when Bernie was around and i always got to ride Shotgun when
Shirl wasn't in the car

yeah sometimes we do stuff to ourselves like drilling a hole in the Bellows

That is appalling. There are airtight connectors (mini-XLR, LEMO I think). Also it's more common to place the connector in the grille and just thread a cable through a tiny hole from inside. The inscription on the microphone appears to be "accordion pickup". That suggests to me that it had been a non-cheap part with a special assembly kit, and maybe someone thought they'd have a better place for the socket than the instructions suggested. Or this came with the mic preinstalled, some later owner had the socket and cable removed and the hole in the grille closed with celluloid, and an owner after that decided to resurrect the microphone by drilling in a new socket ("there must have been a hole here beforeā„¢"). Probably at a time when the original crystal microphone was already at the end of its lifetime or beyond.

There must have been a story like that. How was the usual expression in Arabian nights again? It would be worth etching into people's eyeballs to serve as a warning. Something like that.
