Accordion makers are experimenting with new accordions having open basses, without the thirds.

I can see 2 CBA models, one with 16 open basses, basses + open chords.

Another with 15 basses is called basses unisonores, unclear if this one is a free bass or an in between Stradella bass and free bass.

They have the same dimensions as diatonic melodeons.

The news is the Rutkowski 16 open basses is 1 kg lighter than the Loffet 20 open basses.
The Loffet : 4 Kgs, 28x16x31cm

the Rutkowski : 3 kg, 25 cm x 16,5 cm

The Loffet has some more notes, but the difference of 1 kg is quite significant.
