Last night I saw a new film from Estonia-with subtitles and almost the entire score was the most beautiful accordion music. I found the composer of the soundtrack online and his Facebook page-he’s scored many films in Estonia and many of his recordings are on line, but not this film. Two of the compositions were from Puccini, one O Mio Bambino Cara and the playing was so slow and mournful that it taught me something new about my own need to change my approach to practicing music. I tried to find versions on you tube and they’re dreadful-super syrupy, which this wasn’t at all. I found the name of the accordionist-he seems to be be a well-respected accordionist in Estonia-I can’t read a word of Estonian, but no videos of him playing this beautiful rendition of this piece. I continue to look but it’s not a great selection out there. The least sentimental version is by an eleven year old girl-ten years ago being accompanied by her mother on the piano.
Does anyone have the sheet music for this? I can probably start with the piano score. I could also find no information on whether or not the composer of the rest of the score is an accordionist. I guess the entire score is pieced together by previous recordings which is why I so badly want the recording.

my mistake-it’s o Mio Bambino Cara cam in a-no Italian either.

Translates as "my dear foreign-exchange clerk"? :)

Sorry, couldn't help myself. (Third time's the charm: it is actually 'babbino', father, not bambino, boy.)

It is hard to find sopranos who hold the syrup. It's admittedly a hard choice to make, whether to play this piece straight or deliberately over-the-top as part of the warped comedy (well, what Puccini thinks is comedy, anyway) around it.
