Got this from an charity auction for $200. Its a Soprani/Tivoli as marked on the instrument, but itd be great if the experts here can provide more insights on the age and other info on this model. Turns out this accordion is mostly working fine, except some air leaks. Some weather seal from Home Depot along the bellows edge reduced the leak to accept level for me. The button switch is kinda cute. This is a 4/5 LMMH without chambers. The action is good. I am keep it open to rid of the old odor as much as I can. The volume is moderate (air leak probably didnt help either), but the sound is quite sweet and pretty, even the bass side doesnt sound heavy and nasty like some others Ive heard. I have another Paolo Soprani 4/5 120 bass PA with single tone chamber from LibertyBellows(from the 1950s according to the boss of LibertyBellows). It also sounds quite sweet with clarity but quite a bit louder in volume than this one. Is this one older than the 1950s? Was the button switches popular at the time? These little button switch looks cute but functionally not as good as the modern switches, slower to switch and harder to tell apart when in a hurry. My two cents. Would love to hear from the experts here. Thanks in advance!

This one is early to mid 30's .

Wow, early 30s! I am totally amazed by the quality of this thing! Saw somewhere on the web mentioned something about the 30s but won't believe it till the experts here give the words. Thanks! Amazingly it's mostly working. And the sound is really sweet. Not as loud but really sweet. Folks must have different taste for the accordion sound in those days.Any idea what the strip in the back with the metal nail like things doing? I found a cover for that strip actually in the accordion case that covers it, even with little springed lock. So it's even more mysterious now. I didn't open the instrument when I fit the weather strips but still can't figure out the purpose of this strip on the back...

Thank you all so much for the insight!

Should be 41 pins - each pin is configured to hold a treble key in place.

That makes sense. Thanks. By the way, my other 1950s Paolo Soprani has a broken key arm on the high Ab, . Since it has a single tone chamber, it's even harder to fix the problem. This one is quite some years older but the keys are perfect and action is great. Guess the oldies are hit or miss, involving too many mechanical parts. Just bought an old Morino CBA on eBay from a UK seller. It's a very old 4 reed with 185 bass and 102 treble. I really liked the style and the sound of the Morino. The seller claims everything works good. I am waiting for the shipment and crossing my fingers.

Thanks again, for the expert insight!
