Michigan’s last Polka Dance Hall - Looks Like a Fun Time!

We had no polka sessions here but three nights a week there were dance bands playing a 60/40 mix of modern and "old style " music in various town halls around the place .
It was a great opportunity to meet prospective partners!🙂

I’m headed up to the UP (pronounced “yoop”, rhymes with Betty Boop) next week, but not that far west. I can hardly imagine that’s the last polka dance hall in Michigan. Maybe the last dance hall devoted “entirely”to polka in Michigan? A simple google search shows many other polka events. Here’s one in WI that I’ve danced at, but have not played accordion at (I think my last band played there once): Polka every Sunday, but yeah, other dances too, and I can’t believe there are not such in Michigan.

Where exactly is this located?? What city in the UP??
In the Keweenaw, outside of Houghton, little village of South Range. Only about 200 miles from World of Accordions. Check out the mighty displays, dance some polka, eat a pasty with rutabaga, yupper style. It doesn’t get much better. God’s country.
