Mestrinho (again). Who’s your fav?

Yeah, Mestrinho has become my “go to” accordionist for background music for any task. Closest thing I know for “jazz for dancing.” Sorry. Anyway, here he is with Thaís Nogueira. Only thing better would be if she picked up her zabumba. So, who’s your favorite accordionist these days? (For this exercise I mean “active professional accordionist.” Yeah, my favorite accordionist is Gary, whom I zoom with every week, but let’s talk pro today.)



He’s a master of the “arpeggio fill”. But I don’t know, there’s some clacking in the bass side of that Giullietti, maybe he should trade it in for a .

My favourite accordion music... Well, over time tastes change, but right now I'm appreciating...

Tex-Mex chromatic players like the late Flaco Jiménez and Josh Barca.

And. . .

This Brazilian fellow caught my ear. Severino Dias de Oliveira, known professionally as Sivuca, was a Brazilian accordionist, guitarist and singer. His scat singing along with his accordion music is pretty cool.
