Can anyone give me a rough idea of the thickness of leather used for read valves please?
Thanks

Leather valves from CGM:
63x10 mm 1.08mm
48x9 mm 0.95 mm
32x6 mm 0.5mm
26x6 mm 0.41 mm

I would be interested to know what the difference is between ventilli and viledon valves please

They are both plastic (ventilli) As a rule of thumb plastic valves (ventilli) would be the sizes used for the treble side and plastic valves (viledon) would be used on the bass reeds. They are both commonly called (ventilli or plastic).
Higher priced accordion models from Italy today come with Plastic treble valves and most all have leather bass valves.
