JOLLY POLKA

Nice George! I am happy also, at 83, I can still play these Yankovic polkas, that are very popular around Cleveland, where the Yankovic, "Cleveland Style Polka" sound originated. Until I was 8 yrs. old, I grew up in Euclid, Ohio, where the "Polka Hall Of Fame" is today. When I play for groups today, around the Cleveland area, they always want Yankovic's "Just Because" polka. What I like about that polka, is there is a nice smooth middle part ( I guess it's the "bridge") where I can switch (with my 8X) from an accordion polka tone to the Hammond sound that Frank did with his Hammond Solovox.

Thanks, nice story and your still playing out. I don't recall Yankovic using the solovox for the middle part of Just Because, maybe Blue Skirt Waltz and others? It's a popular song. I put out my attempt on youtube and was shocked to see 1.4K views. He also used a Casiotone M-10 keyboard to get the solovox sound in later years.
