This may sound a bit like a boring subject but have any of you a speciasl insurance for your precious accordions?
What is the insurance situation for an expensive instrument that is dropped at a gig or even stolen from your home?

We listed musical instruments among other possessions, for our homeowner's policy, and I think this may cover theft under circumstances slightly beyond the confines of the insured house. It's something to check, anyway, if you have home owner's insurance.

There is a firm called Newmoon in the UK which seems to have a lot of good feedback amongst the regulars on melodeon.net. There is more info on that forum.

Hi Glenn; Here in the US if you are a musician belonging to any time of performers union or can be proven to play professionally you will require what is called a "Floaters Policy" type of insurance. For the non professional a homeowners or apartment policy will cover your instruments. JIM D.
