After holding the accordion up in the air (bellows resting on the button side on table) it didn't take anything close to 35sec. to close on its own. I figure I have a leak. And I've noticed it's harder and harder to play in my little band setting. Especially when it's time to play a solo and I'm playing a little louder.
So, I took it apart and separated the bellows from the rest of the thing. I turned the lights out and shined a flashlight from the inside and was able to see the light clearly through the bellows in the corners. I understand this is goatskin (is that right?) And being goatskin might just be more transparent and not really a leak ?? Any ideas ?
The next thing I'm trying is sealing the bellows with cardboard and tape and sticking a stick of incense through a hole in the cardboard and flexing the bellows. I figure I'll be able to see smoke coming out of the bellows. Make sense?
Also, just a thought, has anybody ever rigged some pyrotechniques to fire off during a particularly blistering passage on the accordion. Just an idea. Thanks
