hi all

Anyone on here that has a Hohner Student VM and/or a case that I can get the dimensions off of.. Either the accordion or interior of case.. Proper case. Not some run of the mill Tupperware or Rubber maid case.. lol..

I have a Student VM on the way and no case with it so need find one.

Anyone here help with this. The size.. In inches if you can. If not I will have to convert..
Then I can look locally for one.

thanks a bunch
Johnnie

I enclosed this photo as I do not know how old it is. It is the one I am waiting for. So you experienced folks will probably know how old by just looking at the grill. Different model than Brechin's Hope you can wade thru the dirt. lol. Think he would have cleaned it up . oh well.

Mine is the one with the gold grill with the "tape" stripes, seems to be the same as the "Concerto" badged ones, but dimensions are:-

13.25" width, allowing a little for bellows strap studs. For a hard case you'd want to allow 13.5" to include straps and brackets.
Standing on the bass end it's 13.5" to the top of the keyboard, (but the "diagonal" measurement is 14.5.)
Depth of the body alone is 7.25"
Lying on its back on a hard surface, so the depth you'd need for a hard rectangular box (allowing for the slant of the keyboard) is 8.25".

If you wanted to put it in a rectangular hard case, the minimum internal dimensions would need to be 13.5 x 8.25 x 14.5.
All inches.

Sorry, Tom... Is that a typo? ... 1/8th of an inch either side seems to me a might tooooooo tight... ?

The 13.25 would do for a soft bag, the 13.5 is the harder measurement, but as I said, those are minimum internal measurements that should be OK if that was what was available. Probably better to get something a bit bigger and allow for more padding, and to allow for a bit of parallax in my measurements!

[Edit] I checked the width between two boxes - 14 would be safer to allow for strap buckles.

I can recommend the 48-bass size Hohner gig bag. Tough and well padded, with pockets for music and a stand.

thanks Anyanka

I did not know that. But to be honest I don't care what the year is . As long as it plays well which this one does. Very well.
