Ive just acquired a small Hohner Student III 24 bass and was wondering if anyone knew anything about variation in the old models or has a handy link as Ive been scouring the interweb fruitlessly.
This you tube vid shows an identical instrument - shows a red version which has the same grill and design as my Student IV, and from the way she describes it I was anticipating something very similar to the 32 bass just without the 7th row.
The bass layout on my Student IV 32 bass is - E Flat, B Flat, F, C, G, D, A, E. However this particular Student III goes A Flat, E Flat, B Flat, F, C, G, D, A. I dont know that Im going to have much use for an A Flat playing folk music, though you never know. I think Id have preferred an E button to be honest.... It also doesnt have an indent in the C button as an aid to location which will be fun
Edited to add the F I missed out.
